A weel kent name - hope his knee's all right.
Well done Cycle Law Scotland for dissecting another dissembling delinquent driver.

Nice advert for cycle law!

Can't read the full article but will then insurer be pursuing fraud charges?

Very straightforward explanation of presumed liability in the article
Jazzed up by word fake in headline. The driver recreated photos of his recollection over time when it became apparent to him his original admission of guilt was going to take his no claims bonus away. The insurance company knew these were recreations.
From my vantage point from a cheap IKEA wicker chAi in a chilly back porch it is easy to say - get witness statements at the time, phone the polis etc

The driver was very apologetic at the time and instantly admitted that the collision was his fault.”
This seems to be extremely common. A reminder to never trust the driver no matter how apologetic at the time.

Well done Cycle Law.
Does make me wonder if the insurer was in on it...

Edit, I was referring to the EEN story, which basically read like a press release from cycle law (which is I'm sure exactly what it was)

@srd, how are we meant to know you were referring to the EEN story when the story link is to the Herald story?
@min, there is a recent thread on here with totally lovely driver who takes the cyclist he has just knocked off his bike through not observing traffic lights, home In his van, all lovely and helpful and then tries to pull a lights were broken pile of baloney. Always stay down, always phone polis etc, easy to say in comfort of arts and crafts upholstered mini armchair next to dual fuel burning stove drinking Montange st emillion and eating minstrels

@gembo you couldn't. That why I explained. Sorry.

"eating minstrels"
I thought you were vegetarian (or doesn't canibalism count?)

I feel like there should be an At Home With Gembo thread just for these sorts of word pictures.

@srd phew
@chdot, vegetarian minstrels, the milk chocolate melts in your mouth not on your hands
@unhurt, yes that is the way I look at it, armchair punditry Etc.

The minstrels may be vegetarian, but that's not the point...

"I feel like there should be an At Home With Gembo"
Perhaps you could sell tickets?

I was thinking more like a series of 1970s magazine articles - weekly themes could include interior design, fashion (especially hats), philosophy, lifestyles of the [etc]. (Guessing la famille gembo might not be so keen on the ticket idea.)

Depends who gets the money. Some of them have expensive habits.

The one with the expensive habits has a part time job in Scotmid. Having left school recently I met the girl coming down the street on the way to her 10-4 shift, then two hour break and back for 6-10.
It was like totally mega, awesome and a total legend like
There used to be a house up at crosswood crescent that issued tickets (they were free though) for their Halloween performance of Haunted House. Queues stretched down the street

I was thinking of the one with the liking for farmers' market produce, baked goods from across the border, exotic bottled liquids, gardening equipment and N+1 habits.
