That 25% stat is going to be wheeled out for ever - though I guess its use will be like lines about "road tax" and red lights as an indicator that the speaker doesn't know what they are talking about...

It's all very peculiar.
If David Begg is the professional (not to mention professor) that he is claimed to be, why on earth did he use this obviously ropey stat?
Worrying that he thanks Vincent Stops (an idiot) and Marshall Poulton for being his main informants.
Since the stat was obviously dodgy, why did he not admit it when first confronted. Why did Vincent (expletive deleted) Stops not come clean and absolve his mate of responsibility?
Very poorly handled all around.
We can just hope that it serves to make VS and Dave Hill look like the idiots they are, and no one will trust any stats they wheel out henceforth.

Useful to remember that we have a high % of forumites who have a statistically significant capability in wrestling with figures.
