Bottle dynamo to power B&M cyto?

    Hi all, been away for a while but I know someone on here will have the answer!

    An older relative of mine borrowed my Brompton recently and was so impressed that she went out and bought one, with an Nano electric motor no less :-o

    Now I've got B&M lights on mine (Cyto front and toplight rear) and they are quite literally brilliant, however a hub dynamo is not an option due to a motor in the front hub and gears in the rear, so...(finally) will a bottle dynamo power these lights? The extra drag is not an issue as she has electric assistance so the only question is will the bottle provide enough juice so to speak....

    Yes, but they're less efficient so you have to go a bit faster to get the same output. They're also noisier and wear your tyre out quicker. However, they're cheaper (although I wouldn't recommend a cheap one! - look at B&M or Nordlicht) and you don't need a special wheel.

    If you've got a motor in the front hub, can you power the lighting from the battery? Modern lights shouldn't take a lot of power.

    I've suggested looking into using the battery power, though that means potentially no lights if you want to ride unassisted.
    I've suggested if dynamo is preferred, a B&M bottle dynamo from Rose Bike, scary to see AXA Tractions on their website at £12 and change when people can pay £40 UK!!
