Looking to buy a friend some panniers for August cycle to moray house teacher training. Request was yellow on outside and black inside. Bizarrely ortlieb yellow are dearer than ortlieb other colours. Spotted jejames selling outer edge yellow 16L so bit smaller than ortlieb. 20L. But also good bit cheaper. Also had lid as well as roll top but they are waterproof and I wonder if two smaller is better than going with two bigger as the temptation is to just go with one big one.

Any thoughts from the hive mind appreciated.

I have an Altura waterproof silver shiny one which has lasted really well

Needs to be yellow apparently. The outer edge ones look like copy of the altura. The fastening looks like cheap version of ortlieb. Hard to judge off Internet. Must be yellow

Karrimor used to do yellow pannier bags but you'd only find them second-hand now.

Google says the Outeredge is 29cm tall. No room for a folder.

Thanks Gkgk folders would be essential as yellow. In this instance. Claim they were 18 litres will google their width. And depth then figure if their volume could be 18 litres

The large outer edge pannier is the same price as the smaller one at Leisure Outlet, 36cm high which is still not huge, 23litres cf 16litres, so just about taking lever arch folder and yellow

Went with the larger outer edge panniers in yellow. Got stiffed for £7.45 postage but still seemed cheapest. Good result from the forum as might have gone for the wee ones. The big ones will just about take a folder.
