Today's Scotsman magazine ( p11) has an interesting segment on the development of bicycles. Nothing particularly new, but nice to see the pictures (alongside prosthetics, telephones and medical imaging).

(Sitting in pub, which is my excuse for reading the Scotsman...)

What's your excuse for being in the pub?

Being on holiday = good excuse for pub = 'I had to use the free wi-fi and seemed churlish not to buy a drink!'

    'the development of bicycles'.?

That could be a very general read to confirm that many of today's bikes are really not 'that' developed. (Other than better graphics with thinner chains).
    Was it any good?

Pub might have been in a certain village in Perthshire? If so, I hear that they only have two pubs now, both a short walk from main street.

Sorry to say only 1 now. Was going to ask you about that. Strathardle inn very busy Saturday night. Even one cyclist - discussed studded tyres. And a friendly local joiner :)

Log Cabin up the hill is still going I think. Under new ownership. Maybe not open every evening though? Longer walk than Strathardle.

Log cabin seemed very shut whenever we passed by. No sign of any guests. All doors locked. Only sign of life was hot tub running on extension lead out a window.

One day there was a very aggressive dog barking/growling/protecting 'his' territory. Seems to belong to some young women there possibly cleaning?
    Not very welcoming.
