  1. Can't really have any complaints with a big long ride, an airshow, and some nice wildlife spots today. The airshow website now has cycling directions (though I mostly ignored those...) and the same as last time (2013) I've gone, got in without having to show a ticket. Very odd.

Nice show, always reminds me of being a kid and being taken to Leuchars airshow as a surprise. Pity that after 48 miles or so of riding, it was a Lothian Buses X15 driver who squeezed me out just before some coned off roadworks, to try and spoil it...

You may guess from the shots that the sky was somewhat grey...

Someone really needs to fix up a Lightning so that it can be the noisiest thing at airshows now that the Vulcan isn't around to be louder than the Typhoon.

I didn't fancy paying £22 to visit the airshow, so I went to Traprain Law instead. I had planned to climb to the top, but I took some wrong turns en route and lost a load of time, so I just watched from the road on the north side. From there my big lens could really do with being twice as big (or I need more pixels in my camera).

I had a nice view of North Berwick Law, though:

Didn't go to the airshow, but was out riding in the vicinity that morning - lots more traffic* on the wee back roads and a fair number of cyclists heading in that direction. And watched squadrons of something or other flying over Dunbar later in the afternoon.

*Relatively. 5 or 6 cars passed me instead of the usual none.

  5. I can understand the cost being off-putting, but I do like to think that some of that money is going into museum upkeep, so I prefer handing over the cash for the event (and in advance was £3 cheaper ;) )
