Gobsmacked at the probable sentence. Unpaid work.
Though interestingly this, "Sheriff Alastair Brown deferred sentence until next month for social work reports and released Hedley on bail meantime" means there's a chance of custodial.
Not sure the judge is entirely within his rights to suggest what the sentence should be...
There'll be the usual attitude: this sort of misfortune could happen to any driver.
i.e. That dangerous driving - including overtaking when you can't see if anything is coming the other way - is the accepted norm.
