    Indeed, but then these are palm trees so the drivers will be able to daydream about lying on the beach while they drive into the vehicle in front.

    Putting several long steel rods through the tunnel and insisting the vehicles run on the rods would have the dual benefit of reducing pollution while increasing safety. You could call the rods rails and the vehicles trains, but then we don't live in the Alps.

    It was reported on 5 November 2013 that the two Victorian tunnels would be sealed following a decision made by Government not to purchase the two tunnels from National Grid. Transport Minister Stephen Hammond said that building a new tunnel would be a better option should the route ever be used again for trains.
