At the farmer's market I was doing my usual chat at the simple Simon pie stall. Viz. when they started out the vegetarian pie was a quid cheaper than the meat ones. But now they are all the Same price. The vendor said it was done to help them with their maths. At which point another customer who may have been Swiss German joins in with this is not mThs this is arithmetic. Manipulating numbers only becomes mathematics when statistics are involved.
I said I was off to Aldi to carry out a statistical comparison of the demographic of the two cohorts of customer. My hypothesis being that they would be two standard deviations apart.
Here are my results
Farmers market four items (two loaves, two pies) £17.50
Aldi car park sale 26 items (5 teatowels, 8 batteries and a 13 piece food storage container set) £6.47
Some cycle tops, hi viz MTB but not much, more cAmping and caravan bivvy table £3, portable hammock £27
