Does Option A include the slaughter of bus drivers' children?

"You're afraid to run them (cyclists) over because they're in your way."

I can't tell if this one is for or against the separated-from-the-road-cycle-route.

Did it just descend into anti-cycling in general ranting for a few minutes there?

I suppose the buses are already almost at breaking point because of the 20mph thing. I'm quite surprised anyone managed to get to the meeting today, considering the invisible city-wide gridlock.

Picture framer suggested new-build gold standard dedicated cycle network across the city, then further suggested the vehicular slaughter of inconvenient bicyclists under the current arrangements.

10 min break with LH talking to all parties' transport spokesmen about "a motion".

Anyone there care to share who's providing the break buffet? Is it The Fudge House or Fudge Kitchen?

Came in at HankChief's deputation. I might be biased but I thought Henry, Rosie and Richard came across brilliantly, balanced and thoughtful, whereas all the other deputations sounded, well, slightly unhinged.

Huddle of party transport leaders with Lesley has broken up...

    No idea what was said/agreed.

Option F: do nothing. Go away. Try again?

(actually probably better than jumping into option B)

    A is for A-OK.
    B is for Bo...

Oh, rule 2 of the forum.

Noticed that Robert Smart, the MCC rep, and a local, stumbled over the names of 3 streets. Remember the grief that Phil Noble got at the lynching meeting for not remembering one of the street names.

Do council meetings always hop around agenda items like this? No wonder they decide some odd things.

It would appear someone decided putting the longest running agenda item in the middle of the programme was a silly idea.

I'm a bit puzzled about this '15 day limit for events in parks' thing currently being discussed. Princes St Gardens and St Andrew Sq are reliably covered for far more?

So 'Option C' is 'choose neither and delay project to talk more'

In other words, the worst possible outcome.

Cue local elections next year, SNP largest party, whole scheme quietly dropped...

Hope I'm wrong but I'm not at all optimistic. I hardly think % for cycling will survive either. 'Austerity', 'uncertain times', or some other excuse will be used to 'free up' transport cash so those pesky potholes can be fixed.

So much for the PUBLIC consultation process which didn't have Option B.

Whatever else this is it paints the original consultation process in a very poor light.

We had a single option consultation

Then we had a two option meeting

Now we're going back to the drawing board?

Isn't project management supposed to go the other way?

I said elsewhere that the three local councillors for Roseburn should be embarrassed by their part in this. They abdicated responsibility from day one and let a local s**t-stirrer fill the void. As a result all that has happened is lies, misinformation and hysteria have swamped genuine concerns and we've wasted 9 months to get to this stage. If they had led, explained the scheme, built consensus and worked from the front we would be in a better position.
