This is a very unpleasant encounter with a car driver who clearly thinks bikes have absolutely no right to be on the road at all. This was probably a quiet route, either official or unofficial, and highlights why "quiet" back of the houses routes are not the answer.

'I'm in such a hurry to get past you that I'm going to stop for two minutes to threaten you!'

  4. I've had that very discussion.

    "You were holding me up"

    "For about 5 seconds"

    "You were holding me up"

"For a shorter length of time than you've taken to stop to have a word with me"

"...." "...." "You were holding me up" Window up, drive off.

Wonder if being a public face helps your prosecution chances. Good to see something actually happening for once.

No need for corroboration from witnesses in England or famous people land?

No need for corroboration from witnesses in England or famous people land?

IMO, the real mystery is why, if something's caught on camera, there'd be a need for witnesses.

Surely footage is more reliable than, "My mate backs up what I'm saying."

@gibbo, you would think so. The angry driver is denying vine's version even though it looks quite obvious on film but then during the miner's strike all footage was filmed from behind the police so it always looked like miners were the aggressors and you never saw it from their perspective. This was a matter of dispute for people on the ground.

The angry driver is denying vine's version

What the driver can't deny is that her vehicle has been untaxed for the last two months.

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has accused BBC broadcaster Jeremy Vine of “selfish” cycling after the latter posted a video this week showing a driver kicking and swearing at him. Meanwhile the motorist involved has accused Vine of riding dangerously, claiming that he “provoked” her.

Ah now arellcat, Jeremy vine provoked the driver in a time travel scenario to refuse to pay any road tax because of his selfish cycling.

It's not a very busy road, I used to work in a lab at the top of the hill.

As I remember there is some narrowing at the Kensington end, the direction they are going, before it reaches the High St. Whichever way she goes there a bike will beat her unless it's late at night or early morning. Even in the '80s there were always lots of cars parked on the street.

Dave Alan, the comedian, stayed on the east side of the corner they just passed before the unpleasantness and the outside of Jason King's "Paris" apartment was a block further up. The college Michelle Tully went to in East Enders is the former QEC building on the west side of the road.

How is this not inciting hatred against a vulnerable minority?

@gibbo Jeremy Vine was unable to furnish Mr Clarkson with a hot dinner at the end of a hard day's xenophobic rambling - there's precendent that shows it's perfectly ok under such circumstances to not only incite hatred, but to actually punch such people. Jeremy should thank his lucky stars he's not lynched for being such a terrible burden on society! :)

    Important caveat buried a bit

The jail term will be because she broke the law while on a suspended sentence, not directly because of the road rage incident.

She has been jailed for 9 months. As Klaxon has already pointed out, it will be because her suspended sentence.

"At the time of the incident, she was subject to a suspended sentence for a string of previous convictions for robbery, thefts and assault."

    (A) Road rage driver has history of violence - shocker!

    (B) Exactly how many robberies, thefts and assults do you have to commit before you finaly end up in prison?
