Hey everyone. It was great meeting with you on Friday for coffee. This is my first post so sorry if I've broken protocol by starting a new thread. I'm working with Love to Ride and Edinburgh Council to coordinate the September workplace cycle challenge in September - starting tomorrow. It would be great if you could all sign up. All you have to do is log one 10 minute ride on the site (you can sync to Strava and other apps) during the month of September to be in with winning a spot-prize. Extra spot-prize incentives for people who are not regular cyclists. The link is http://www.lovetoride.net/edinburgh It's also a great chance to be part of a city-wide "cycling census", to let the council know how many people cycle and what kinds of issues you would like to see addressed, i.e. the deplorable state of the roads. Any questions just ask (barry@lovetoride.org). I can email you promo material and an email blurb to send around your workplaces.

Hi Barry, sorry to have missed you on Friday. I have been promoting this at Heriot-Watt already but hadn't used the address with '/edinburgh' at the end (I assumed it wasn't important since this is a national challenge, compared to the Edinburgh one earlier in the year). Will that matter?

Do you have any posters that could be printed out?

Hi guys. Sorry I didn't see this until now. The "/edinburgh" doesn't matter when you register, as you will automatically be added to the relevant local challenge based on your postcode. But by going to "/edinburgh" or "/kent" for example you can see the local league tables as opposed to the national ones.
Posters. I have soft copy promo material you can print out. Email me at barry@lovetoride.org and I can send them on.
Cycle Friday. I have mentioned it to some reluctant beginners as a useful resource actually!

Hi,
I finally registered and retrospectively added my rides. I had to break some up into the amount I rode per day, as it told me that 615km was too far to ride in one day!
Admittedly I did ride it over 2 days but with a short period of sleep in between time spent in the saddle.

LOL, I don't think you are the first audaxer to have "broken" one of these systems, DaveC!

DaveC, it must have known the short period of sleep was at home in your own bed.
