What do the hive mind think of this...

I like it. A sticker for your bike and an app to store your details.

Quick scan of the sticker with the app will tell you if it is nicked or not - no UV lights / logging into websites.

Must make it easier for people to check recovered bikes or 2nd hand bikes.

I quite like the app for storing the details of your bike(s).

    What do you think?

Only had a quick look. I actually thought of this several days ago, then decided it was stupid because a thief would just take the sticker off. Still, it can't do much harm.

Would it not be better to key off the frame number rather than a (removable) sticker? Maybe the sticker just makes it easier to access.

The stickers are made from a special self-destructable material which, whilst not completely tamper-proof will come away in microscopic pieces thus making it a pain to remove. The sticker is also designed to be high visibility and will not fade or be destroyed by the weather or UV. We have tested the stock on rough weather environments and the sticker is still as bright and clear as the day it was applied.

Guess it depends how much effort you want to go to to make the bike untraceable and how much the mess you have to make takes off the resale value
