I noticed today that the non-functional pedestrian crossing from West Pilton over West Granton Access (which is not exactly a quiet back road) has been removed. It's never worked for as long as I can remember, but it does seem a bit of a retrograde step to remove it rather than fix it. Maybe a new (working) crossing is coming...

I pass that way fairly regularly when taking the little ones to playgroup on a Saturday but never use the crossing so didn't even notice that it hasn't been working.

It is reminiscent of an inner city motorway which is perhaps why I find that many vehicles are travelling over the limit. Most of the adjacent streets are traffic calmed. I wouldn't try and cross it with children without a pedestrian crossing.
