This was copied around work today and I thought some here might be interested: GreenEdin

The first page of the survey talks about where you go to experience nature but Q3 of the mapping questions is about where people go for outdoor recreation/socialising, including cycling. Forest Research are looking for responses from a wide variety of people to gain a good understanding of how greenspaces in Edinburgh are valued.

I did find the mapping questions a bit frustrating as the map resets every time but maybe I just lack patience...

Thanks @Muirwoods. The survey's clearly a good idea. I love urban woodland and visit lots of bits of it whenever I can. Put simply though, because I love urban woods it would take me all day to 'spray in' all of my favourite bits.

The survey design is excluding me because I have lots of data to give. Not good design I don't think.

Perhaps you should contact them directly. They presumably assume 'most people' only go to a limited number of places.

Unfortunately this will put 'most people' off -

We greatly value your help in completing this survey. It should take approximately 10-20 minutes, depending on how detailed you want to be in your response.

    "

Additionally it presumably won't (and maybe isn't intended to) cover the sort of "green space" that there are various plans to build over(?)
