Let me explain, I've been unemployed for a while now and as such I haven't been cycling much in the City during the morning.

This morning I was out and about nice and early. It's quite nice to be cycling with loads of other people. Had a few conversations at ASLs - all jolly good fun. And much more social than cycling either really early (before 6am) or during the day.

So, anyone want to employ me? A job would make quite a nice motivator for cycling commuting :-P

"So, anyone want to employ me?"

Sounds like you should be employed as a cycling conversationalist cheering people up on their way to work (though I'm a bit surprised people wanted to talk!)

A link to an on-line CV might help you...

Illegal Jack has seen how fast I cycle. Cold burritos me thinks.

(CV on request to interested parties.)

(My idea employer would be 3 miles away on rain days and 10 to 15 on dry days. Oh, and not into the wind either way...)

Surely IJ's burritos' favourable surface-to-mass ratio and foil wrapping would keep them toasty for long periods even at high windchills?

See if the cooncil would employ you as a cycling-warden. As well as riding around getting video of the world from a cyclist's POV (which it sounds like the council desperately needs) you could be a means of getting people to stop at lights by chatting to them and calming them down. If you saw someone skip a set you could catch them up and forcibly chat to them at the next set until they saw the error of their ways. The various higher education facilities could probably also use some sort of cycle safety training ambassador to ride amongst their students and yell at them when they look like they're going to do something perilous like mistake red for green.
