There are questions, in particular, about the prevalence of asthma among elite athletes
This is getting a bit odd. Could there be any actual advantage to having a diagnosis of asthma and therefore access to drugs that open airways?
And how did asthmatic Wiggins get through club level competitions to be noticed by pro teams before he had access to TUEs?
I just can't help feeling that something's not stacking up.

Interesting article saying in part that the heavy breathing in cycling results in more air going via the mouth rather than nose and so less filtered and leading to more prevalent asthma.

Asthma can take many guises remember.
Sports induced asthma (which reacts and is treated in much the same way) is something less chronic but just as damaging to performance. This is often caused by "running hot" in cold air.
I used to get it when I did a lot of team sports. I'd be very warm after trying to make my carcass sprint and the cold Edinburgh air effectively would kick off an "allergic type" reaction in my lungs.

Asthma is actually not usually 'diagnosed' ; they 'diagnose' it by judging whether or not your symptoms respond to the drugs. or that's what my doctors tell me.
if callum skinner was hospitalised multiple times as a child, it seems fairly likely he's asthmatic. although childhood asthma does often disappear.

The release by Russian hackers of TUE records has successfully diverted people away from the state-sponsored Russian doping program....
