From the comments section so far it seems that any inconvenience caused will be the most upsetting thing, not the fact that someone was seriously injured nor the fact that the police are making a major effort to investigate. It does seem odd though given the lack of further explanation.

    inadvertent johnston press clickbait.

    pertinent:

Edinburgh Road policing officers will be closing Dalry Road for ten minutes intervals on Monday, October 3.

“This will affect the stretch of road between Orwell Terrace and Cathcart Place between the hours of 10am and 11am.

“Officers will be holding up the traffic for around ten minutes at a time.

“Drivers are asked to find alternative routes and are thanked in advance for their patience.”

Accident was outside Maplin / Co-Op. Not sure where exactly but the car came to a stop about 4m past the pedestrian crossing city bound.

I'd guess the police want to do skid tests. Seem odd though as no way will the weather conditions be the same.

DVLA website says the MOT of the car involved ran out in April 2013.
