Picked up my new rims now built into wheels by Eastside. Given up on Open Pros and gone for the cheaper, tougher option of Rigida Sputniks.

I think a few people here use (or have used) them. What sort of tyre sizes have folk been using? I had 25s on the Open Pros and think I could squeeze up to a 32 under my mudguards. I think a 25 would roll off the rim as they are a bit wider than the Open Pros, I think 28 might be smallest sensible tyre.

If I could get away with 38s I would, but just not enough clearance!

Mostly depends on rim width, see chart near bottom of page -

Note: This chart may err a bit on the side of caution. Many cyclists exceed the recommended widths with no problem.

    I make it a 19mm interior, suggesting 28mm and up to 44s.

Will probably give 32s a bash given I've also got them on touring bike and wintersaurus rex.

Well I realised I had a pair of hardly worn Conti Contact Touring in 32c on the touring bike (which has been gathering dust ever since we moved here 2 years ago), so I've swapped them on and there's plenty of room to spare. At a push I might even get some 35s in there if they weren't too chunky on the grips, which would be amazing for the cobbles.

Still, I'm looking forward to cruising at ~80psi rather than 110 along Randolph Place and Coates Gardens.

It did mean swapping out the mudguard stays for ones which were slightly less enthusiastically trimmed to a 25c tyre profile...
