Well... I have to tell someone.
Got my cateye computer in the 1990's.
I have now cycled 100,000 miles.
    That is it really.

That must be deeply satisfying. I'm glad you posted.

How has it gone so far without calamitous loss or loss of function?

I bought my first CatEye computer in the 2000s. I'm on my fifth or sixth now, after they've fallen to washing machines, lumpy roads, rain or general system failure.

I bought a Sigma bike computer in the 1990s but I think it's still somewhere in the garage of my parents' previous house.

    Nice total,

I had a guy waving his arm at me tonight backwards and forwards in a kind of get out of my way, come back into my way very bad tempered gesture on canal towpath, I thought fifty fifty on who should give way around the pedestrians. He thought 100 him zero me. I laughed at his appendage waving and he got even angrier and said FU rant rant. I shouted watch out it's darth Vader he is going to get you. He was head to tow black nylon. Maybe cold. Huge guy. I cycled quickly on. A few minutes later a similar fifty fifty with the lovely chrisfl and tag along. Thank you very much, I always thank anyone who gives way very much, thank you very much he said back, before we even recognised each other. Lovely

Hmmm. yes, my Cateye is a bit like the white mouse a teacher friend of mine looked after for her primary school classes. The wee beastie 'lived' to about 15 years old.
