    Headline on article -

"Electric bike scheme first to be launched in the UK"

Presume not true, unless first scheme under plan announced last year -

Fantastic. Had my first experience of being overtaken by a wee old lady on an electric bike this week - going up Kirk Brae. Hopefully many more to come.

Do seem to be more about, and increasingly 'stealth' ones - you have to look closely to realise they are assisted.

Definitely some used by (generally) older people who look like they are enjoying the benefits.

There are electric mountain bikes for hire from the Bike Station. You wouldn't know it from the website, but there are.
