We are developing designs for improvements along the Roseburn to South Gyle route known as #QuietRoute9. You can share your views before 27 March at https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/roseburntosouthgyle/

The work will make the streets safer and easier to use for anyone walking, wheeling and #cycling

"There was a tractor on the green and I just thought, 'No, you can't do this. You've not even consulted us'," said Ms Marsh, who has lived in Redruth Close for 17 years.

Correct decision by council to immediately reallocate funds to an area that won't protest against improvements IMO. Not a hill worth dying on

As ever, this story really about parking. A quick swatch at the satellite view on google maps shows several cars parked on the grassy area.

I am so sick of cars helping themselves to every bit of available space they can physically get their wheels on to.

Meanwhile the kids are playing with a Moonball* indoors in the living room, when they should be playing with it in the street, and engaging in spontaneous play with other kids. But they can’t go into the street because cars.

    <rule 2> this keech

So depressing seeing what we’ve lost.

*Large bouncy ball wrecking ball curse/trend, that we’ve avoided getting for as long as possible, but has now been given to us

Possibly a bit niche - consultation on Murieston Park Play area:

My immediate response to the "Murieston Park Play area consultation" would be to shut the bounding roads to through-traffic and reconnect the park to the tenements to which it belongs

    ‘We’ like niche…

Am in two minds about EGBT involvement in this sort of thing. Probably more interested in the Park than consultants looking at other parks for CEC.

    Probably cheaper too.

But is an online Q much use? (Presume they are doing other things too?) At least this one has all the questions on one page! Something of a novelty these days.

I’ve been told of a consultation done by “consultants” where NINE staff turned up for an ‘in person’ event with ‘mood board.’

Nine may be an exaggeration, but they weren’t outnumbered by ‘members of the public. A

Apparently they had no answer to ‘why don’t you go to the park and ask people using it?’

The public are to be given the chance to view and comment on proposals for a sustainable residential-led development at Maybury Quarter Edinburgh, the site of the former Saica packaging facility in the west of the city.

Promoted by regeneration specialist Summix Capital, Maybury Quarter Edinburgh aims regenerate the former industrial location on Turnhouse Road, which covers 15.5 acres (6.3 hectares).

The flagship low carbon neighbourhood aims to deliver a mix of uses, including housing, hotel, commercial and retail uses. This brownfield site is allocated in the City of Edinburgh Council’s Proposed City Plan 2030 for residential-focused redevelopment.

The first public consultation event outlining the proposals will be on Wednesday 27th March 2024 at Delta Hotels by Marriott, 111 Glasgow Rd, Edinburgh EH12 8NF between 2pm and 7pm.

A second event will be held on 22nd May 2024 at the same venue and time, presenting updated proposals which will include appropriate feedback and comments from the first event and other stakeholder engagement. Further information will be made available at http://www.maybury-quarter.co.uk, which will host consultation materials on the day of the event.

If you’re one of the half a million people who live in Edinburgh, then this will matter to you. To prioritise investment this consultation seeks community-level views on where the Council could save money, where it is doing well & where it needs to improve

    Dundee Street

We can't share them before the consultation, which is a while off. It's basically a segregated cycle lane from Diggers to West Port with junction improvements along the way. No bus gates.

We want to hear your views and experiences to inform our Physical Activity and Sport Strategy for Edinburgh

Head to our website until 26 June to have your say http://edinburgh.gov.uk/activitysport

    https://twitter.com/Edinburgh_CC/status/1787540857983279169

Once again “activity” only counts (in some contexts) if it can be labelled “sport”.

Consultation on the ETRO (ETRO/21/28A) that restricts parking in Edinburgh East that enabled SfP bike lanes to be installed. This covers bike lanes on London Road, Willowbrae Road, Milton Road, Duddingston Road and Duddingston Road West. It also covers other non SfP related parking restrictions.

Consultation is open until 28/10/2024. CEC current traffic orders

Duddingston Road and Duddingston Road West SfP lanes connect two primary schools and a secondary school which are used by parents pupils and staff amongst others. It would be a great pity to lose these.

This project proposes a network of safe and well-connected routes as part of a walking, wheeling and cycling network for Granton Waterfront. Our ideas have been designed to make walking, wheeling and cycling safer and easier through the new and existing areas of the neighbourhood. The proposals include wider pavements, better cycling provision, placemaking improvements including new and improved landscaping and upgrades to key crossing points and junctions on the following routes:

    Overview

We are considering putting in place Firework Control Zones in Edinburgh and we would like your views on this.

A Firework Control Zone will mean that certain fireworks will no longer be permitted to be set off in these areas

Last chance to fill out the Prestonfield-Priestfield consultation.

Looks like a really good scheme, adding street trees, buildouts, and a pedestrian friendly area. It would be good to add some voices of support.

    Closes today, 20th October

The consultation on Experimental Traffic order ETRO/21/28A, under which various SfP cycle lanes were installed in eastern Edinburgh, ends on Monday 28th October. This includes cycle lanes on London Road, Milton Road West, Willowbrae Road and Duddingston Road.

As with other TROs/ETROs, positive emails will help to make these permanent.
