I thought I would set up a 1 stop shop for all the historic and open consultations so that we can respond accordingly...

A positive response even if just to say that we support what it is trying to achieve is a good thing.

It is apparent just how many there are...

Now you could go straight to the Consultation Hub or you could go via the wisdom of the CCE thread on the subject below.

    Thanks Hankchief!

The number of planning applications above is considerably larger than the number of members of Spokes planning group, we do read the comments here and would welcome as much input as possible!

If there are any new consultations or any I have missed, then please start a new thread and post a link to the thread on here.

    Thanks, Hank. Hanks.

Managed to do 3 over lunch. Gave them my "opinion" on the proposal to do almost nothing about South Gyle Access crossing. Well, they did ask.

I would just add the "comments or objections" to Traffic Regulation Orders. Available to view, comment on or object to here:

    http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/info/20016/roads_travel_and_parking/263/view_or_comment_on_traffic_orders

Of particular interest to "us" perhaps is Leith Walk Phase 5 (link to thread).

At the end of each survey you are invited to provide your email address "to keep you informed about this consultation and to invite you to take part in further consultations on cycling and walking improvements in Edinburgh."

I've done it every time and not once had an email. Are you just spotting these by checking the website?

@klaxon: yes (noticed them when responding to a different one)

Oh, on the above TROs. The following close for comments (support) and objections on 25 November, i.e.. Friday next week.

    - Leith Walk phase 5
    - School Streets Experimental TRO to be made permanent

If you want these things to happen, please send in comments supporting the schemes. You can be sure that anyone objecting (mainly motorists) will be sure to get their objections in...

Problem is the implementation of school streets and abuse of it is a joke...

"Problem is the implementation of school streets and abuse of it is a joke..."

Implementation not so bad. Enforcement is a joke: the complete lack of it leads to widespread abuse by selfish parents who simply *must* drop their little darlings off by driving their motor vehicles as near as possible to the school gates.

I have written strongly supporting making the School Streets pilot permanent. It's the very least the city can do to help make children's journeys to school safer. However I also commented that enforcement is non-existent in the hope such comments will be forwarded to Police Scotland...

I have also written strongly supporting the TRO for the proposed enhancements of Leith Walk Phase 5.

School streets could be relatively inexpensively enforced with ANPR. If LIDL can do it on a car park, so can a school.

Good idea Klaxon. My response to the TRO is being considered as an objection... Hm. "logged your e-mail regarding the above proposals as an objection as it will be a little while before you receive a full response from the officer in charge of the project. If you are satisfied with the response then you can withdraw your objection or if you are not, continue with the objection"

@wangi, maybe you were a bit too negative? My comments were registered as support, even though they did include constructive criticism regarding the lack of enforcement.

@Klaxon, from the School Streets FAQ:

    "Who will enforce them?
The scheme can legally only be enforced by Police Scotland; the penalty for ignoring the prohibition is a fine and points on the licence. "

So the police could use ANPR but the schools or council cannot.

    Drop-in Surgery - Thank You!

Leith Programme Phase 5 (Brunswick Street to Montgomery Street) Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who attended our informal drop-in surgery at the McDonald Road library on Thursday 10 November to get more information on and discuss the future Phase 5 draft TRO proposals. The Council officers in attendance on the day had a number of informative discussions, listened to a variety of opinions, and gathered valuable information from those who came along. Some of the feedback received can help us refine, where we can, the final designs for the next phase of the works so many thanks again to everyone for their time.

Roseburn Park - closing date for consultation 26th November.

There is a box where you can add that rather than tinkering with the park it would be better if the commuting cyclists had provision on the parallel roads instead, also a box about improving cycling in Edinburgh generally.

Deadline for responses to Leith Walk program is tomorrow (Friday 25th). Short emails to trafficorders@edinburgh.gov.uk supporting RSO\16\13 and TRO\16\58 for Leith Walk phase 5 would be great. Two or three shops at the top of the walk were complaining about loading, would be great to have some cyclists writing in supporting the plans too.
