Another press release brimming with superlatives and hyperbole dutifully churned out by the chipwrapper.

The building is hardly "iconic" and is one of the less notable structures on St. Andrew Square.

“It’s opening up that side of town because until now there’s only really been KFC and McDonald’s.

“Any new restaurant is always good.”

    Really?

Di Maggio's bills itself as an "American Italian" restaurant. So, a pizza place then?

Seem to have a lot of outlets in the West of Scotland, including doubtless "iconic" sites in Airdrie, East Kilbride and Hamilton. Oh and four restaurants in Glasgow, including a flagship diner in the Merchant City.

Here's the menu, which features such authentic Italian delicacies as burgers; "Crispy Bad Ass Louisiana Hot Wings"; Nachos; Gambas Pil Pil; "Copacabana Chicken"; BBQ Pork Ribs...

It's a Glaswegian Frankie and Benny's basically. Kids, teens, famished shopaholics and pre-stag crawl diners will doubtless enjoy an unpretentious slice of pizza there.

    They do takeaway too, apparently.
