It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

I noticed them there this morning on my way downhill. They didn't give me any indication that I should stop and receive advice. I simply waved and said "Morning!" as I passed them. There appeared to be another one down at the Duddingston Road (South?) crossing too.
I assumed they'd have stopped people passing while particularly risky activity was going on overhead.
Fully closed today, according to this tweet from a reliable source.

Yes, fully closed this morning between the tunnel and Duddingston Rd W, and expected to remain closed 8am-4pm for several weeks, according to the sentinel on duty there.
the most annoying thing isnt so much that its closed (although that is annoying), its that this work will have been schedule for weeks / months and there was a never a plan to close the tunnel. Only to tell people to to use at own risk. But on Monday they arbitrarily closed it with no notice or diversion. poor.
Encountered the closure this morning. very annoying that no diversion route has been put in place - a real shame for any visitors hoping to follow the NCN. I did the Commie Pool,Dalkeith Rd, Prestonfield Rd, Peffermill Rd,Kings Haugh (hellish road surface!), and back on to the path at the end of the Innocent Rail path, as I've done before. Not ideal but ok.
There is an unofficial option avoiding Dalkeith Rd - into Pollock Halls, down to the Confucius Institute, emerging through the gate onto Marchhall Cres and then to Priestfield Rd to Peffermill Rd. Far from ideal but better than Dalkeith Rd.
Did the Pollock Halls diversion this morning - was good. Although I think only on the way out of town, coming back up Priestfield Rd with that road surface looks miserable.

Rock face works at the Samson's Ribs area of Holyrood Park are now complete.
The Innocent Railway path is fully open.
Updates in due course regarding Duddingston Low Road but it remains closed for the time being.
