    Hi,

I've got a pair of Conti Travel Contacts for normal times, and Marathon Winters for, well, the winter.

More often though I'm thinking the studs are just a bit over the top and I could get away with just something less slick the way our winters have been lately.

Was considering just using the Travel Contacts all winter but had a nasty warning shot over the bows this morning as I lost grip at the front leaving a very busy roundabout.

So what would be a good happy medium for cold, mucky weather, but maybe without the studs?

I'm also looking for something like this....

I don't have anything to recommend, but I've been looking at the Vittoria Rubino Pro Endurance which claim good grip/performance in subzero conditions

I was wondering about the Specialized Armadillo's too

There was some discussion on another thread of Continental Top Contact Winter tyres - good review and no studs.
