I didn't read all of it; the bit that I did read was a lot of "I saw his name pop up on the headline and my first thought was that he'd died..." which became amusing with repetition...

The radio this morning was talking about how he had an over the counter med sent from the UK during the tour and they wondered why he didn't just get it over the counter.

I remember something about a tennis player getting a proprietary med then finding out too late that the ingredients were different from the UK version and contained a banned substance. Perhaps Mr Wiggins was trying to avoid that possibility.

"Perhaps Mr Wiggins was trying to avoid that possibility"

I'd certainly give him the benefit of the doubt, and for the 'medically sanctioned'/otherwise banned medications.

Unless Sky (and/or Wiggins) have been involved in Lance style deception (even on a small scale) then at worst it's a genuine mistake (which could still have serious consequences).

What I don't understand is the current 'process' where medical records and other details are secret which just leads to more opportunities for speculation!

This happened to Alain Baxter too.

    "

British Cycling was warned about the dangers of its relationship with Team Sky just months before women’s coach Simon Cope embarked on a four-day journey to deliver a medical package for Bradley Wiggins, it has emerged.

    ...

"Could anyone quantify the impact Cope's moonlighting away from his publicly funded role, and the failure to conduct a single camp for the British women's road team he was meant to manage, had on our failure in Copenhagen?"

“Those horrific things I saw when I was growing up ... nothing can shock me now, and I want to use that mental toughness working as a social worker. And when people say, ‘Oh you’re that cyclist’, I’ll say: ‘No, that was a few years ago. I’m a social worker now.’”

Wiggins’s reputation has suffered some damage since his retirement. The Fancy Bears hackers revealed details of therapeutic use exemptions Wiggins was granted ahead of some of his biggest races, including the 2012 Tour, while an investigation into the contents of a jiffy bag delivered to the 2011 Critérium du Dauphiné for his use was inconclusive. Wiggins called the investigation a “malicious witch-hunt” at the time.
