The Council has secured funding from Transport Scotland to explore the potential for an 'active travel hub' at Haymarket Station, a major transport interchange at the west end of the city centre.

It was first tweeted on 31st Dec.

I presume they have money to use quickly, with such a short deadline...

"I presume they have money to use quickly, with such a short deadline..."

Which sums up the way far too much cycle stuff has been planned/implemented in recent years.

That is one of the poorest surveys I have ever seen. I suppose whoever did it had about five minutes to sort it out - but even still, it's a shocker.

    Not as such -

    "
The Council has been in discussion with a number of stakeholders, including Abellio ScotRail, Sustrans and Cycling Scotland, about the proposals and a survey (external link)is now live seeking people's views - and especially users of Haymarket Station - on what features they would want to see in such a 'hub'.

    "

Presume public surveying isn't a core skill -

    "

Now a £10,000 feasibility study, 100% funded by Transport Scotland and being carried out on the Council's behalf by consultants Capita Symonds, will examine the potential for Haymarket to become a 'hub' for active travel.

I'm not sure who thinks Haymarket is suitable as a hub for anything to do with cycling given the tram line issues coming from Morrison St.

I'm sure they'll be able to suggest having a cobbler.
