The gate at the top end of the Esk path, at Cowpits, has been locked shut for a couple of days now. I've heard it was connected to a large fly-tipping incident which has been cleared up now. The black gate would be hard to see in the dark.

If only we had the technology to install a barrier to vehicles that isn't an obstacle to intended use.
Maybe I'll invent one. I could call it the bollard?
