Anyone ridden that area very much?
I'm looking for something that takes me about 30-40km riding in the morning or evening so preferably quiet roads. I travel to Glasgow a couple times a week so struck me I could ride to Linlithgow (or back) to get a few of my 30-40km faster rides in each week.

Currently trying to do at least 100km by Friday each week. Any advice or roads much appreciated.

I have done that journey via livi, a couple of times when railstrike at livi south and going to dunblane after work. Its around the same distance, although mainly quite roads the A899 is the worst road in a town I have ever seen. Double carriage way 50 mph, yet has slip roads everyone treats it like a motorway for that reason alone would think maybe not. The road from Dechmont to Linlithgow is nice and hilly with good views. Long dalmahoy road, kirknewton, East calder, Mid calder, livi, Dechmont.

Go onto the long dalmahoy road, cut down to Hatton mains, take turn at wilkieston, cycle to newbridge then before Broxburn (road or good cycle path) turn right at glenmorangie now crabbies bottling plant and take niddry castle road tune yo fauchiedean area, then choice of two roads that are you above Linlithgow and then roll down the hill.
