This event is being supported by the Bangholm Outdoor Centre a CEC facility near the 5 ways junction on the NEPN. i'll be going on the ride as bike guide/mechanic.
Any support you can give us to find suitable young people would be much appreciated.
Bangholm is also home to the. Edinburgh all ability bike club, the ELREC bike library & hopefully new venue for EdFOC events.

Finally I hear you are entered into LEL. So am I so if you are interested in pooling resources, training rides, travel to/from London please give me a shout.

    Thanks @themightysimmonite

It sounds like a great trip. I just wish I was a younger or my kids older...

(I'm still trying to convince Mrs HC to let me take the Chieflets to do the 5 ferries route, but that may have to wait until they are a bit bigger)

Bangholm is a great facility - I saw it in action during the Family Bike Curious event last year (I brought most of the contents of my garage!)

I'll drop you a note about LEL :-)

Looks great. Likewise a pity my kids are not older, reckon my son would be up for it.

Our bike club has plans to attempt something similar, but as yet only plans. Being organised by sometime cyclist in the club (we have many armchair members). I am keen to go.nunlike the Belgium trip which I fear will have too much drinking and not enough cycling for me. Not against drinking just can't cycle much the next day after anything more than a few shanties these days.

My son's pal might fit the bill.

This is kind of relevant for those of us with female offspring...

    https://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/21/opinion/sunday/why-do-we-teach-girls-that-its-cute-to-be-scared.html

"When a girl learns that the chance of skinning her knee is an acceptable reason not to attempt the fire pole, she learns to avoid activities outside her comfort zone. Soon many situations are considered too scary, when in fact they are simply exhilarating and unknown. Fear becomes a go-to feminine trait, something girls are expected to feel and express at will. By the time a girl reaches her tweens no one bats an eye when she screams at the sight of an insect."

@HankChief, again looks great. My son loves kayaking, but again he's too young. Not even in high school yet...
