Saw a super bright, fairly slow moving meteor burning up over North Middleton tonight, a real beauty.

No meteors, but plenty of stars earlier this evening:

The sun! Always a highlight up here. Especially in the day.

Last night I went for a wee night ride with cyclingmollie into deepest East Lothian. The night sky there was brilliant, despite patchy cloud. The Trump-coloured glow from Edinburgh gave false hope of northern lights.

I have to say that I am probably a bit strange. I love pootling around back roads in the middle of the night on my bike. The night vibe fits well with me. I'm lucky to live far enough out of Edinburgh that the sky on a good night is pretty clear. I can just make out the Andromeda galaxy with the naked eye.
