Upper Tweed Railway Paths Group need trustees

2 years ago the group became a SCIO (A Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation). This offered the opportunity to enter into legal contracts etc. essential for developing the path. We need a mimimum of 3 trustees to maintain this status and over the past few months two have resigned – one because of a conflict of interest and the other for health reasons (Damion).

Unless 2 (or more!) volunteers willing to act as trustees – who will be ideally based in the Peebles/Biggar area, and actively involved in the group, come forward within the next few weeks I will be sadly obliged to wind up the SCIO. The ‘active involvement’ is important – being a trustee is not onerous but essential. If you knew Damion you would appreciate his huge contribution to the project for which we are very grateful.

If I could ask anybody who is willing to please email me directly. John and David have provisionally set aside the 7th of February for a meeting to discuss the way forward

A lot of work has gone in so far. David Gray and John Grimshaw have really worked their socks off. We are in the position of having planning permission to start work on the Peebles to Lynn stretch of the path (including developing the tunnel) and have landowner agreement for a section north of the Crook Inn where we are on the point of applying for planningpermission.
