Hello! I'm curious to know if folk with this frame find the bike a little long in the toptube? I was just looking at the geometry for one of this year's model (http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/road/road-sportive/equlibrium/equilibrium-20) and for the 'Medium' frame, the horizontal toptube is just a smidge over 56cm, which I thought was a little big, considering its more compact, comfortable brief.

Also, I'd be keen to hear how people have found it generally! I'm looking for a decent 'do-all' which could still hold its own on club rides, etc, etc, and this seems to fit the bill nicely. Cheers!

I'm very comfortable on mine (2013 model) and I've ridden 400 and 600km Audaxes on it, but I suspect the geometry or at least the size range may have been tweaked since then. I have what was described as a 52cm, but IIRC it has a top tube around 538mm, which falls midway between the current XS and S models. If I were to ride the current S model, I might need to drop from a 100 to a 90mm stem in order to compensate.

In general, I'd highly recommend it, though I can only speak for the frame built with 725 tubing, and mine is also a custom build with handbuilt wheels and Campag groupset, bringing the total weight down to 9kg. It handles really well - responsive without being twitchy - and is very comfortable over long distances. It will definitely hold its own on club rides - I did the Loch Ness Etape on it last year and didn't disgrace myself. Stick some mudguards and Gatorskins on and you've got a fast, durable commuter or even light touring bike.

I can vouch for that. Panyagua is certainly very quick on the Equilibrium

Okay, that's good to know, thanks! As ever, I'll need to get my mitts on one to try out, but it seems my suspicions aren't too unfounded. Similarly I'm toying with the idea of building a 725 frame up to try and save weight. I do love steel bikes, but up to now it's only been SS and fixie, so weight has often been taken care of by default! Thanks again for the information.
