Any pedal friendly route suggestions for getting there tomorrow, or is it just a case of a701 / a703, which i know will be pretty miserable.

One route is over past Gladhouse onto the a703 for a mile or do to Eddleston then hang a right over the Meldons.

Another is to head to West Linton via Auchenforth. Then to Romanno Bridge then follow the Lyne valley.

Also you could go to Broughton and turn left in the village over the nice wee road past the hill fort.

Then you could go through the Moorfoots then along the cycle path to Peebles, take a back road south to avoid the worst for the A72 west of Peebles

    @ Amir - thanks.

Gladhouse would have been nice, but due to time constraints I just a701 & a703'd it to Eddleston.

The 701 was a grim as ever from the bypass to Leadburn. The 703 was pretty ok, road surface much better than expected.

That road from Eddleston was lovely - although there was a TT starting/finishing just at the start, so lots of pointy helmeted, disc wheels hammering down the hill towards me as I pootled up.

Dawyck Gardens were lovely and sunny.
