Due to the nature of the physical measures necessary, such as barrier restraints.

People go on courses to write sentences like that.

'Barrier restraints' is a tautology so we can take one of them out.

'the nature of the physical measures necessary' Well, we're not interested in the emotional nature of unnecessary measures so that can go in its entirety.

We're left with 'Due to barriers', which can be further parsed to its final form; 'Because.'

Edinburgh West Lib Dem MP Christine Jardine has urged the Scottish Government to give communities in the shadow of the new Queensferry Crossing access to the official opening.

She branded the ballot for the chance to walk across the new bridge “a publicly funded publicity stunt”.

West path again today and may well be for some time. The U - road under the bridge at the S end had a barrier up, so the best way is definitely to go up to the main roundabout. As there is almost no traffic, there is very little wait time to cross.

@paddyirish I can't remember which thread you reported it on but I noticed this morning the pointless barriers you ran into have now been removed.
