Anyone else seen this ? I presume its there to allow you take your purchases home, not for use around the store.

Still, you'd need to go to Homebase, shop, borrow the bike, take stuff home, bring bike back then go home.

10/10 for trying, less/10 for practicality.

I'm fairly impressed they're even trying this. Looks very new and shiny. Is this the Homebase at Craigleith?

10/10 PR hit. Amazed if it ever gets used.

Soderberg have one too. Just green furniture really to give a business that progressive feel!

Homebase in Denmark may find people do use such an offer. Viable cycle routes help along with strict liability laws.

    That sounds like a challenge!

    If only they had two...

    Race...

Surely the race is with 2 people trying to pick up something (say a flat pack bookcase) by bike.

1 tries it on their normal bike with comedy efforts of lashing down the package.

The other uses the cargo bike but has to add in time to go back and return the cargo bike.

    Would be an interesting result.

I cycled round the other day and had I been buying something larger would definitely have used it. Great stuff from Homebase.

I'm impressed. Now I want to buy something from homebase just so I can have a shot. Wonder what I could get... Although knowing my luck somebody else will have borrowed it first, and I'll be in the comedy role trying to strap a massive bag of compost to my bike.

I'm sure that I can come up with some excuse for borrowing this. Shame that it doesn't appear to come with the seat and straps for the kids as we had great fun on one of these when we were in Berlin!

Also a shame that they "banned" cyclists from accessing Craigleith Retail park.

    @ davidsonsdave'

    banned' ?? when / how / etc..

the cycle path goes right in there behind the Sainsburys petrol station. They even have cycle lanes painted in the retail park. I'm always in there with my bike.

@ Frenchy - great link, I read it all.

Does anyone know if Sainsburys actually followed through ?

Cycled in there last week, signs still up but they have no legal standing. No one in the play park

On way out had to pull a manouevre at the craigleith junction to get into the Holiday Inn.

Bike was gathering dust when I went the other day.

Glad to see it has been used. We need to keep using it to make sure we don't lose it...

@Kim I was there the other day and didn’t see it, but would love to use it - pretty tricky to get any amount of plants home safely on my “normal” bike. Will ask next time I am in.
