Crossing Inverleigh park today (Arboretum Pl to Carrington Rd), I encountered a huge puddle covering the path.

It was pretty long, and I'll be honest, I underestimated how deep it was.

And, without mudguards, I gave myself a good soaking.

No biggie, as I was on my way home and only had a few miles to go.

So, if you love riding through big puddles, I suggest you get yourself down there tout suite, and go hog wild. It'll be gone within a day or two.

On the other hand, if you want to stay dry, take a different route.

Interesting fact: aquaplaning speed = 9 * (square root of tyre pressure) approximately. So even on a 40psi MTB, you'd need to be doing 57mph. On a 100psi road bike, you'd need to be up to 90mph.

    Chapeau!
