Last night around 8pm someone stole a saddle bag of tools from a neighbours bike locked in our stairwell and removed the faceplate from my handlebar stem, leaving the bars hanging by the brake cables.

Not sure whether they were trying to steal the bike and gave up/were disturbed or whether it was just vandalism.

Reported it to the police, even though nothing was stolen or damaged.

Just to make people in the area aware really.

Someone on Twitter recently had theirs nicked from outside the Polwarth Scotmid, too. Worth raising with the community council and/or local councillors to feed to police?

Hmmm.... That was why i reported it to the police, even though nothing was stolen other than 4 M5 bolts.

Hopefully people will be better about making sure the main door is closed behind them now (they are generally pretty good but clearly someone didn't last night)

Did the bike that was stolen not have handlebars? Trying to work out why they wanted my £15 Deda bars...

The tools were stolen to take the bolts and fit them to another bike?
