I have been perstering Adnams Brewery (the sponsor) to bring their lovely Stout up, they have been ignoring me.

The Cobbles pub at Kelso should be able to ease your pain with their fine selection of Tempest brews, gembo.

Anyone know where the start will be? It was great in Holyrood Park a couple of years ago...

Starting outside the City Chambers, then a loop towards the Castle and out through Duddingston. From what I've heard it's a much lower key start event than last time? Not sure if clashing with Tour of the Borders has anything to do with it or not?

And then "Edinburgh is inviting cyclists to take over its streets on Sunday 3 September"

At last! Was beginning to think they'd never ask :-)

Why does all this have to happen on the same weekend as the Bealach? Cry face emojis

Starts on the High Street outside St Giles’ Cathedral, then up the Lawn Market, to Johnston Terrace following the City Ride above. All the way round, so that they do one and a half circuits of the Old Town, after passing the Meadows for the second time they carry on up Bernards Terr, right on to St Leonard's St, left at the Scottish Widows, down into Holyrood Park, out to Duddingston where they pick up the 1A and so on out of town...

Note the race starts at 10:30 from the High St and the City Ride at 11:00 from the Meadows

So who is going to watch the race before enjoying a closed road ride?

We are talking about going out to Redstone Rigg to watch them go up there, which is what we did last time.
We're not exactly target audience for the City Ride... ;-)

I've decided to do the Erit Lass instead (note this is longer than the ToB stage 1 and has more cake opportunities). I do hope the spectators on Redstone Rigg will wait there to cheer us audaxers on (they may need a picnic or two).

Wrong event. The news story applies to the Tour of the Borders sportive, while this thread is about the Tour of Britain pro race.
