I think I have something in my eye after watching the video link
So my first query is - where can I sign up and borrow one of those cool bikes to start touring with people from nearby homes?

The National Cycle Network will surely be up to the task of ruining this.
You'd be doing extraordinarily well just to reach an NCN route with one of those bikes from most nursing homes in Edinburgh.
I'm sure there are some good routes available, but not nearly as many as there should be.
