I ran out of power 1 mile from my house did 59 miles but 30 miles on eco mode. An electric mountain bike on eco seems more work than my revolution normally. The last mile with no boast must be what its like riding a pashley. Its great on round abouts and hills but as motor cuts at 15.5 doing 19 mph is also more work than on my revolution.

Good bit of research there Ed1

So you changed assist levels to squeeze out the range? Bosch is pretty good but Eco mode can seem like too much work if there are hills or headwinds. Most of my experience has been with UA load bikes. These are over 45kg unladen so the range is OK inside city.
Also got two Niholas with Steps motor. Although you can ride with no assist and just the controller ticking over it's a pretty joyless experience. I'm yet to try them on a bigger run out of town. Prefer refuelling myself rather than bike.
