My phone says -6. I wouldn't be surprised. On Tuesday night while I was sleeping, I was dreaming about Ready Brek!

    Ah

But if you get below −273.15°C then all things are possible.

    all things are possible.

you can even cycle the Innocent at -273.16°C ?

  13. I have no idea what you're on about, but 'can this be true?' - I'm watching the second Ashes test at the moment and that's exactly what's going through my head.

Remaining on topic, my thermometer says -5.6, although the sensor is right on the windowsill so likely picking up heat from the house.

Mine now says -12. It is a digital one and it sometimes depends what you point it at, hence the uncertainty. -12 is snow surface temperature.

I'm going out now, I may be some time..

Woke up in middle of night.

    Phone said -14.

Looked out window, calm still tranquility - broken by the sight of a gritter.

Looked out of the window this morning - TWO gritters (which is a record!)

    - TWO gritters

    minus 2 gritters? That's umpossible!

I'm not even going to try and cycle this. I'm defeated today.

No it's not, we are definitely in a parallel universe.

Also have you seen this site?

Radio Scotland said -12 last night for Edinburgh, and it was -20.1 in Braemar. Brrr. No news from Altnaharra...

A balmy -2.3 now outside my kitchen window.

Anyone notice the planes coming in last night? They, like, totally ruined the peace.

That's great, thanks for sharing (despite the 5 point scale for 3 hours time blocks!). I like the 5 degree drop very rapidly around 11PM. I had gone in doors and eaten a lot of nice cheese and had a few drinks and then was a bit taken aback at the temperature when I went back out to head home. And that was wrapped form head to foot in thermals and my warmest hillwalking clobber

NO - really interesting - esp. temp. drop.

    Like the solar flux pictogram!

Yup, I look at it to see what direction the wind has been coming from and for pressure trends. Dr Massimo Vieno is a very helpful chap, too, if you want to see additional meteorological plots.

Yes - interesting flux at midnight. Not sure about the scale.
