    Hi guys!

    Im a newbie here. Im planning to buy a bike but I dont have any friends that I can ask.

    Maybe I can ask the experienced people here.

    You'll get plenty of advice on here don't worry.

    Can we get a little bit more information on your budget and when you see yourself using the bike. I.e. distances, frequency and any specific load carrying requirements

    Your answers may change once you are hooked though ;-)

    Hello @frippery13 I suspect you have come to the right place. It's mostly harmless.

    I can still remember when I thought "I am going to buy a bike"

    Are there many forumites who still only own one?

    New bike?

    Second hand bike from bikestation(likely cleaned out by the lovely students)

    Single speed?
    Gears are better

    Flat bars?
    Drops are better

    Skinny tyres?
    Schwalbe marathon plus are better

    Rucksack?
    Panniers are better

    Bells and lights are a must for these dark nights approaching, also get some mudguards.
    But that is like just my opinion man
