    Well done them!

I know we each have our own personal favourites, but EBC must be doing something consistently right (or be consistently good at getting people to vote for them) to come out top in the UK.

Mrs LB and I gave them a vote and whilst no shop is perfect I think EBC are beneficial to supporting cycling here. Bought at least 6 bikes from them before LB days.

Interesting to see who else was in running. EBC deployed there social media resources from rUK of course!

I do use EBC and generally I like it. However, I do find their customer service somewhat variable. Some of the staff can be extremely helpful (sometimes almost too much so, eg insisting on going on an extended hunt for something you didn't really need that badly, but you feel it would be rude to just leave - and anyway, they might actually find one, and that would save you a second journey...) but the odd one or two can come across as a bit offhand, or worse, more interested in discussing their latest escapades in Glentress with a colleague than actually, you know, serving customers :(

The best service I've had so far at EBC was from an Italian chappy in the service department who happily fitted a star nut to my new carbon fork while I waited, about ten minutes before closing time on a Saturday. I didn't buy the fork there, and I thought I could fit the star nut myself but it wasn't going well with my improvised tools so rather than risk trashing three-figures' worth of shiny new stuff I wizzed down there just before closing and he sorted me out so that I was able to finish my front end rebuild that evening :)

Great skills by Arragon's Cycle Centre to be at Number 1 in the North West England and at number 3 in Scotland.

The shop is in Penrith, so I guess the Debatable Lands have expanded a bit further south...

Nice to see Leslie bike shop, and Pedal power in there. Both shops have done good deeds for me in the past.

I wouldn't have said EBC was the best bike shop in Bruntsfield, let alone the UK.

The advantage that EBC do have is that they have someone to do Marketing.

@ztiltskin, I would not have said flame rouge was the fourth best bike shop in the East Midlands (well if it is the one in Bedford?) but with these daft competitions if I am approached and beseeched to vote for someone so they can win a jokey competition for some puff publicity against the man then I did it without thinking too hard.

    Apparently this is not true.

Interviewer Why is Ringo in the Beatles?

Lennon, OK I'm not saying he's the best drummer in the world (pause for effect) actually, he's nor even the best drummer in the beatles

oooh I like the name ztiltskin! It makes me sound a bit Russian, or maybe a disciple of Leonard Zinn.

Glad to see Flag Bikes and Condor Cycles in London making it into the list.

Condor is a bike lovers paradise - old school and new school. Awesome shop. Flag is in Battersea and is a lovely community hub and cafe plus tasty roadies and nice commuters.

Not worth a trip in themselves but good to see them on there!

"Interviewer Why is Ringo in the Beatles?

FAKE NEWS ALERT: "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles" was originally a Jasper Carrott* joke, which somehow ended up being attributed to Lennon.

And plenty of folks believe that Mr Starkey wasn't at all a bad drummer: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/sep/19/ringo-starr-great-drummer-the-beatles-genius

    * You'll remember him: he was a wizard behind the skins and definitely knew what he was talking about. Er...

I saw a clip recently which I might try and fish out of my YouTube history where someone doing a drumming show demonstrated how [a particular Beatles song] wouldn't have worked with drumnastics, whereas it was fine as it was with a simple well-meshing beat.

I have one of the 800 versions of this. Very solid for the 4 years service. I bought it after several forays into cheap lights on fleabay.

Ringo was left handed on a right handed kit which he claims led to his unique style of fills

@moose, ok, he’s not the best drummer in the world, actually he’s not even the best drummer in the Beatles.

I have a claimed 1500 Lezyne. But it is too bright. Half price Evans several years ago. Burns battery quickly.

These cat eye ones are nice and slender, actually I have one of them too but i jiggered the fastener one time I turned the bike upside down

@gembo i used use the cat eye Volt 100 and Volt 80 when I was doing a lot of night cycling (to/from trains) / and London commuting in the dark. brilliant light (esp the 100), keeps charge well but I was mostly on lit roads, and I presume that if you're looking at 700 you're not.

I have a couple of Volt 300's for the front and a Volt 50 at the back (along with a non-Cateye rear light).

One thing to be aware of is that if you have a wireless computer (in my case also Cateye - should I have bought some shares?) is that if set to blink / dim with bright pulse then your computer will most likely not work. Took me a while to fathom that one out.

I thought I had this resolved on handlebar by left to right, Computer, constant Cateye, Blink Cateye. Worked on Brompton and Hybrid and also on the Gravel bike. *HOWEVER* at the last battery charge (both front lights run down) I seem to have swapped the physical lights and even although I set them up as above, speed would still not register on computer so there may be some QC variation in the switches / construction..... Answer was to physically swap the lights....

Found my cat eye volt again, taking it to the repair shop to see if I can get the clip fixed. Hell I probably binned the fitting on the bike though

That drumming video makes you yearn for Ringo bashing some drums, bringing in some sandwiches when John and Paul aren’t talking, swinging his mop top.

13 mins of nasal twang about dingos drumming and no Ringo. Ok I have up after 2,3,4

I was able to buy spare mounts for my cateye to swap it around the fleet and even a helmet attachement.

Has there ever been a CCE band?

@moose - @ Algo is the Houseband. I imagine he is the most talented musician on here but could be wrong. @arellcat on bass. (Facebook photo)

We briefly had a link to Aberfeldy

    Guitars have been built.

The band I am in We Travel In Hope had its first gig Covid Cancelled. We have an introductory number that name checks several CCE people, thoug( @Roibeard is not the Robert who rolls a single skinner under the table in Kay’s Bar.
