Just had a quick look over at the instagram documentation. This actually looks very straightforward to implement, I've also been looking a allowing embedding of tweets.

Retro feel crucial to the success of this place, just like 4chan, well not like 4chan but you know what I mean.
That's not the non-comparison I was expecting. And yet.
I have tested an import into Discourse, but no plans to move to anything modern in the short term, although in the long term* we may find that a change is required.
* how long long term is really depends on how successful I am at getting php 7 working.
