I'm not seeing any anti-bike language. Has the article been edited or can I not read properly?

He was hit by a car - see the linked article and his own quote.
It was described as a collision with a car, which suggests shared fault
"reportedly riding his bicycle" - suggests that they don't believe him or haven't bothered to check.
How often do you see the word reportedly in descriptions of other incidents.
