Rumblings of a government grant for ebikes comparable to grants for plug-in electric or hybrid vehicles. Odd headline though.

i have to say, Minister Jesse Norman said some very positive things there. Can he be nudged to deliver. Well worth a read.

A great idea (but there will also need to be investment in infra for people to cycle on). E-cargo bikes for local deliveries makes enormous sense from every angle if it can be made affordable.

It appears that parts of the Scotland Act (1998) have already been repealed then?

Hi-vis and helmet chat very welcome as always.

That article only needed to be one sentence long:

"Norman said he could not promise extra funding for cycle routes, but said central government could start pushing councils to take more action."

A slightly different take on this story:

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/bike-blog/2017/oct/21/infrastucture-key-to-future-where-12-year-olds-can-cycle-safely-cycling-minister-jesse-norman

It's still, imo, a change in national attitude towards cycling when you consider the current Secretary of State for Transport (Grayling) and the previous one (Hammond) couldn't even understand why cycling was part of their remit. Reinforces my own pet theory that to get change you need people in positions of influence who actually cycle every day.

"He assured cyclists that any decisions would be based on evidence."

    I don't trust you.
