    "Dear Evans Cycles Customer,

We are contacting you as a pair of brakes you purchased from us may be impacted by a voluntary safety recall. Please be aware that you can identify whether your brake is impacted by the date code on the back of the brake arm.

Please find further details of the situation via the link below.

In the event you are impacted, please contact your nearest Evans Cycles branch and we will arrange for a replacement brake for you and fit that at no charge.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and we look forward to getting you back on your bike as quickly as possible.

    Kind regards,

    Evans Cycles Product Recall Team"

Both brakes on my bike are within the date range, so I contacted my local shop, who had no idea what I was on about. A direct search on SRAM's website had no hits, but a Google shows some confirmation.

The duff brakes have to be shipped from shop to manufacturer to get replacements, so there'll be a week or more of the shop storing the brakeless bike. I'd been meaning to switch back to the singlespeed for a bit, anyway.
