Just before 6pm tonight. Passers by in attendance and taxi driver helpfully using his taxi as a shield.
Cyclist was concious and moving so hopefully not too badly hurt. If I was to guess I would say a haorribly placed road sign was likely to have been responsible.

    Get well soon.

To clarify, when I say sign I mean only the invisible grey frame was present. The actual sign was lying on the ground.

Where about on Gilmerton Road Min? There's a few nasty roadworks along its length.

Close to where it meets Liberton Road, alongside where the old cottage used to be.

Good's Corner. That is badly done that stuff, not too much of a surprise. Hope the victim recovers and the builders rethink.

    Hi folks,

I was with the cyclist until the paramedics arrived. Pretty sure it was the sign scaffold as Min said above. She was pretty confused but mostly seemed ok.

Have reached out to the cyclist; will update if I hear back from her.

Sherlotte - great, thanks very much for letting us know!

IWRATS - Ah so that's Goods Corner. Often heard about it, never put corner to name.

Noticed yesterday that the number of obstacles in the cycle lane has decreased. I think they've taken away a controlled pedestrian crossing that was at the southern end of the site.

There's now a beautifully helpful pair of signs on the eastern pavement, both saying "Pedestrians", but with arrows pointing in opposite directions.

    Thank you Sherlotte!
I fell over the other night (while NOT on the cycle) and another cyclist stopped to check i was ok--i was, but it was very comforting of someone to ask.
